High School Building Uses Spray Foam Insulation Inside and Out

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation has been a common insulation choice for years, but the way it was used on the new 140,000-sf Prescott (Wis.) High School was anything but common. In addition to the typical application as an interior insulation product, the project team specified the use of SPF on the exterior of the building for added energy efficiency. The mass walls used in the school’s construction are sturdy and durable, but they are also prone to moisture intrusion and air infiltration.
